About Me
Hi there! I'm Mikey Turner. I'm a DONA Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.​ I always knew I wanted to work near maternal health because I've had an immense love and interest in pregnancy and childbirth since I was a little girl.
I started my birth work career by working for an OBGYN practice. For many years, this work satisfied my passion for supporting pregnant people and allowed me to learn so much about pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and women's health. I enjoyed my time working there but something was missing and I realized I wanted and needed more. I then went to work at Howard University Hospital where I learned a lot more about healthcare and the various medical specialties. I was happy there for a while but still felt like I wasn't doing what I was passionate about and it became a drag. I began my search again to try to find a career that was what I considered my passion.
In search of more rewarding and fulfilling work, I came across doula work. After doing a LOT of research, I decided to train as a doula. By the second day of my training, I felt like I was right where I should be. I finally found my passion! Shortly after I finished training, I quit my full time job so I could be the best doula I can be.

Birth Doula
Are you or someone you know about to have a baby or babies? As a Birth Doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to birthing families before, during, and shortly after labor and childbirth to help achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
Virtual Doula
Do you or someone you know want to have a Doula but not sure if you'd like to have Doula assistance in person? The birth and the postpartum period is such a sensitive and special time that you might want to keep with only those that are in your intimate circle. I also provide virtual services so that you can keep you circle small but also receive the needed assistance.
